I jist joined myspace, but not to meet people I didn't know, to get in touch with others that I had lost touch with. I've reconnected with about 10 friends since I registered like two days ago.

The whole, "I have so many friends but only online" thing is stupid. I plan on using my space to keep in touch with friends that I have known in person, not get new friends. Kind of like AIM.

of all things, I believe myspace has the most tourists, and facebook the least.

when someone adds me on facebook, i give them a "who is this" or better yet "who the fuck is this" in response if I don't recognize them from a party or anything. besides some of you fucks, I know pretty much everyone on my facebook.

internet people are creepy, unless they are in your true network of friends, not just network of internet friends.

        example:
I did get in touch with a NASA instructor who is friends with a big group of friends back home but I never met. I ran into him in person last weekend at the event and talked and even ran together in one session. He got in contact with me through myspace, yes, but we probably would have met in person hanging out with my friends anyway.

using sites to meet people, like the forte of bimmerforums OT to hook up with girls off myspace.....weird. might work in the OC....but that site is for people with social defencies. you might have to put up with the problem she has, but she would be desperate for attention and willing to put out.....

the thing about Xuqa is it encourages such behaviour with the ability to search singles at your school, and send kisses / tickle others, buy "gifts" and add "secret crushes". It is a nice example of the downfall of society as we move to the the internet

What is disturbing to me is that I work in the admissions office of my college. They just hired a new lady last week. She is a single mother of 2 and 37 years old. She spends most of her time at work text messaging, emailing, posting on Myspace (she has a picture of her dressed as a cowboy), and chatting on MSN Messenger.

WTF? This lady creeps me out. I am glad on am not on Myspace or anything like that.

I think that's one of the first times that I've actually laughed out loud.

Myspace is just fucking creepy. Facebook is OK because it's only kids from your college. It's mostly a place to post a picture of yourself doing something stupid while drunk the week before. That and checkin' out chicks that you met at the last party while you were hammed.

I agree with you Ken, Facebook seems a lot better, though I am on neither of them.

No, i vote facebook isn't creepy because people in college, whether it be hitting books or drinking, don't have time to be that creepy.

people who don't go past dropping out of high school have nothing but free time outside of the third shift at pizza hut or steak N shake, so they have the ability to whore myspace up. And people who post a million bulletins asking for people to comment are needing attention they don't get because of lack of actual friends.

[THE SOLE EXCEPTION ON MYSPACE IS PEOPLE WHO ARE PROMOTING MUSIC, WORK, ETC. They are on there for the right reasons. One of my friends is a band manager, and he got me on that gay shit.....wish he hadn't]

But "remembering" chicks names = thank you Facebook. It's like a refresher course or cheat sheet to remind yourself.
