        The view from mine on Hood Canal in Washington. Built by my grandparents in 1950 from a kit they ordered from Sears and Roebuck.

            George: I've been really into the shipping container thing for about 6 years now. Still want to do one.

            Also, I've been looking at lots of different log home kits, and wouldn't mind dropping one where I am right now. Ideally, I'd like to build here, on my 15 acres, AND buy 5 or so up in the hills, and put a retreat up there. Generator/solar and trailer my own water up if need be.

              Haha. I still have the receipt. Total cost to build was under $3000 including buying the land. I inherited it 15 years ago.
