Love my job! When I get yelled at, I just look at them and try to make them laugh (I usually flex my arms and scream I work out and do a wiggle dance) and then they stop and then realize it doesn't do any good to yell at me. Being yelled at doesn't phase me because really isn't going to change what I did and isn't going to inspire me and with this job unless I do drugs, beat my wife, steal from the company or sexually harass someone....I'll never get fired.

YES Fucking YES . Since the office really has no idea what we are up too, we function mostly autonomously from the office based on what the customer needs are, sometimes that means working nights. Never fails have to work a day, then get a little rest and work a few nights in a row then back to days, but just as you start sleeping good after working all night. The phone rings and its the office wanting to know about something mundane.

I hate my job with a passion. Phone calls at all hours, people have no respect for my time. Travel orders with little or no notice. 2 weeks ago I was solely responsible for landing an account that will bring in 2 million over the next 3 years...and I get dick for it.
If I wish the job market was like it was years ago; You hate your job, quit and walk right into another one. Nowadays, not so much.

The problem is that you give weight and respect to what she tells you. Why?
If you were truly indifferent it would not bother you one bit!

First , write the bitch off! She is the enemy and you need to move into tactics of subversion and subtrafuge.

          Have fun with it!
That sounds like the farthest thing from your mind right now, but its attainable.

          Here's how.

Practice in the mirror agreeing fervently with your boss. Look yourself in the mirror and say things like, "you know I should be working harder and I will try to do better" or "gosh I have really been hustling today, but I know with your leadership i can do even better"
or "is there anything else I can help with today because I really want to make your business prosper" or I know this is a team effort and I wanna be the best player on the team can you tell me how I can improve"

I can rattle these bullshit inspirational fucking rainbow flavored responses off for days, but you get the picture. Make some of your own up. Make them seem as natural as possible in the mirror - practice, practice practice!!! If it worked for Deniro in Raging Bull it can work for you!

If you cannot remember all the good ones to use -right them down in small lettering on a 3x5 card and put it in your pocket. Refer to it right before you need to say one.

Try this "experiment" for a minimum of one week ( one day and your boss thinks its a fluke, two days and she thinks your kissing up, a week is a commitment!)

Then at the end of said week see if your bosses attitude has changed toward you.

What typically happens is you defuse the negative comments and gain trust. You essentially will extinguish her desire to ride you like a fucking pack mule from the moment you arrive. The question is who will she redirect her negative comments to?

This exercise is not easy and requires the ability to :
          A. Act
          B. Put ones pride and dignity aside
          C. Suck up

Essentially all the virtues of the subservient workforce which you and many are currently a part of.

Since you know at some point you will no longer be working for this tyranical bitch then enjoy the adventure. Fuck with her head, kill her with kindness.

This should effectively flip the script and if nothing else it is a wonderful opportunity to practice sucking up and kissing ass effectively. Here is another trick that you can work with. Practice some of those nice sayings , but then when finished saying the audible portion continue said statement in ones head with vengeful remarks.

Here is an example , (Audible part) Wow I really need to find a way to handle all these tables of patrons faster (beginning of inaudble / in head) you fucking dumb bitch. It also makes for a nice pause that lets her say something that you will totally disregard.

If this tactic does not work then she is possesed and need a demon removal through her ass canal.

Yeah, I hate my job, but also have a mortgage and tuition to pay. Man up and do what you have to do, and while you're doing it look for something better if you can.

I actually like my jobs, one I get to do windshields 10 hours a day and I am so good at it my manager just leaves me be, never get any customer complains and I just cruise through the day.
The other job I get to be in front of the camera and act a fool, lol, sometimes get to make out with a chick or two, perks of the job ;)

40 hour work weeks? Stfu man I was doing that when I was 17-18. Working in a Chinese restaurant with a bitch ass boss would've been a fucking vacation compared to the stress levels I've been enduring for the last 7 years at my current job.

                  I hate my job.

I have two loans, a credit card, phone, health insurance, car insurance (x3), and food/gas expenses.

I have a GF who has no job, but is starting one soon.

I work 40 hours a week. Weekends off (shop closed).

I really hate my job, but it gets me a parts discount, allowing me to make money on the side. I'm going back to school when the GF get her job.

This thread is kind of a downer and my reply is going to suck.

The OP has a right to hate his job, just because his job is easy (he admits that) it can still be a PITA and he can vent. Everyone seems to think just because their job is shittier they have some sort of one-upsmanship going on. Sorry, having a worse job isn't winning. The secret is to vent but then going back to doing your job professionally and being a productive member of society. Its good to vent from time to time, the people who dot vent end up on the evening news.

I haven't really had one of those classically shitty jobs. A sketch boss here and there and some long hours but there have always been silver linings and the situations have always been temporary (sketch boss gets canned, workload settles down, etc). Otherwise I would do what I would suggest, put yourself on the market. Even as a person who doesn't like change (My average tenure at a job at my young age, even if you include high school and two layoffs) is 4 years and I will always say there is nothing wrong with keeping your options open.

Its a dog eat dog world out there (you should know working in a Chinese restaurant) and you always need to look out for you own because, no matter what they say, your employer is always looking out for themselves.
                      Im now E30less.

If at some point you don't hate your job, you're doing it wrong.

Even during the best jobs i've had there have been times i wanted to say fukkit all.

When times comes for you to quit and move on, you'll know it.
