Yeah, that's why he has millionaire customers coming out of the woodwork to have a car built by RWB. They build ONE car per customer, and they aren't cheap. He's not doing Vlad-work on them. And I'm not some "hip stance fag".

Don't worry though, because as clearly stated in the video, Nakai-San still likes you, too.

I did think the Hoonigan/illest cars for SEMA were too mainstream sellout status. But I do like his style, and direction.

Right, and like I said in that earlier thread about E30s being a way-too-popular cult car, in a few years when the trend dies off, those publicity-built cars will be gone, and what will be left will be the real enthusiasts, who were there before, during, and will be there after. Nakai-San would have been retarded to turn down the money they probably threw at him to build those cars. RWB was building cars before the stance trend, and they'll still be building them when it goes away. Which it will, mark my words.

And people forget it took forever for him to accept the money. He has only building customer cars in Japan and avoiding the spotlight. None of his stuff was available mainstream until last year.

Can't say that he is brilliant based on the style of his builds. It's awesome how meticulously well done it seems his projects are made but to say that he is some tuner genius for liking his style is basing the statement on personal preference in which there is no universal right.

I think it goes beyond that. I appreciate his personal attitude towards tuning AND the style of his cars. Who knows what the legacy or long term impact of RWB will be, but for now lets enjoy or hate (doesn't matter as long as you're noticing) what he's putting out. :p

This is exactly my point. What speaks to me isn't the cars themselves, I'm not even that big of a Porsche fan (yes, they are BADASS cars). It's his whole outlook, his perception of what the tuning scene is TO HIM. His shop is building what HE wants to build, without the influence, pressure, and demands of the tuning world. I admire that so much.

He didn't set out to shove his designs out into the spotlight and advertise, nor was he directly trying to attract people to his brand. He isn't making special-order custom versions of his cars for each customer. Sure, they all might have little different things here and there, but every one of them is immediately recognizable as a RWB car.

You're not getting a car that he built for you, you're getting a car he built for him, and you get to own it.

yeah obviously, because he has no attention to detail and likes to fuck people over.

theres no way this guy is anything like vlad,
and fad or no fad, this guy builds some of the coolest cars i have ever seen, and that opinion will not ever change with time.

For fck sake, this guy built the shop as an extension of his actual house. He lives this shiit day in day out. Mos definitely not a trend nor fad. If anything the tuning scene today is influenced by his styling.

AFAIK, Rauh-Welt basically sells and installs wide-body kits and huge wheels. That makes them more of a bodyshop than a real tuner in my book.

They don't mention cams, cranks, racing transaxles, engine management, throttle bodies, etc. Do they even build engines and prep race cars?

Don't get me wrong: I like the look of their cars. But a real tuner should make a car faster, not just look better.
