They can be pretty hard to clean. There is no real good way that i know of. I'd just throw it in the washing machine and if it's still there, plain grease isn't really going to harm your car, and at that point it's probably just some residue. I'd just use it because i don't think it'd affect anything, unlike a dirt mark/stain.The first car I ever rode in was an e30

This (These?)
Yes, they will likely leave swirl marks in your paint, but they aren't going to scratch is so bad as to damage the paint permanently. It all comes down to how good your paint is to begin with. If it's so-so, then wash away. If you baby it and polish/wax it weekly, then of course you don't want to fucking use them.Comment

on a paintjob like mine thats slowly chipping away in random spots, it does really matter. For a fresh paint job or paint that is still good and with a like buff and wax will shine like new do not go to these self serve washes probably just as bad as going through a drive thru wash.Comment

Nope don't use the once at a coin-op wash. Hell, I don't even use the brushes we have at our dealership, people are LAZY! brushes left on the ground and not cleaned between uses.
Worst thing I saw was a guy grab a brush off the ground, dunk it in a bucket of dirty something, then scrup a car(he didn't rinse off all the salt on the car, just scratched the F outa it!)
I like the cheap brush in my trunk. keep it clean and rinse often.Comment

Only use it on the car if brush is soft, I have thoroughly blasted it with the pressure washer (brush), and I make sure the soap is EVERYWHERE before using. I also made sure to pressure wash the car prior to brushing so there was less filth.
This was only when I had first moved and had no where to wash my car, I wouldn't do this again only because I used to scrub my jeep clean after mudding.Comment

yea, I would Pressure wash the brushes usually, for a DD commuter car, IDC if it isn't the perfect device, as long as the particulate is washed out and it gets the dirt off.
for a nice car I care alot about with good paint. I probably would not use one at all.Comment

NO, I have a town full of Mudders and they occasionally wash their vehicles. Bring a bucket and wash with your own sponge. Go off hours so not to tick some one else off.Comment
