Since I no longer can hand wash at my house (shitty apt now with no hose) I'm forced to use the self serve washes. I bring alot of my own supplies though. I'll spray the lower half with Meguiars APC and the wheels with whatever wheel cleaner I'm using. Then use the car wash and go around the car a few times with their pre-soak. Spray that off thoroughly with high pressure soap, rinse that with the high pressure "wax" and then use the spot free rinse. Take it for an air dry and towel the rest off at my house with a quick detailer for any remaining dirt. It's no where near as good as a nice hand wash but I've been doing this for a the last 7 months and it works very well. Usually only spend around $2.50-3 in quarters too. Never touched any of my cars with a car wash brush.

That shit works great on your wheels, and because of this I'd never even think about putting one on my car. Spray and rub with a mitt.

Who am I kidding -- I don't wash my own car.
            tasty
