If my car was given to me, the last thing I would do is complain about how fast I wish it was.

Just an fyi most autoX's are anywhere from $20-$40, way cheaper and usually easier on your car than a track day.

Hit the nail on the head.

Fuck your friends, who cares. My buddies drive Mercedes E55's, C63's, E46 M3's, E90 M3's, STI's and yeah no shit they pull on me with my S50 E30 and talk shit all the time. "Oh my lawn mower sounds better, blah blah blah" but I love my car (hence why I bought another) I enjoy my car for what it is, you just need to understand that. I used to have cars that haul ass and I'll tell you my 2006 GTO has gotten me in more trouble than it's worth. That fucker still has 19,000 miles after four years of ownership.

I work at my uncles hot rod shop and I've seen plenty of 1000+hp demons, but that's not what these are. Enjoy your car, learn how to drive it properly and hit some corners. (safely)

If you really want to feel some more of a power band, swap out that e head for an i head. You'll be redlining at 7k+ rather than 4k. Much more enjoyable-and simple too. You don't drive a Ferrari, it's a 20+ year old BMW. Take it for what it is.

i got pulled over on an empty, outside of city, road going 103 in a 55. Mind you I was 18, and I don't drive fast anymore. I was able to get out of everything, but the highway patrol followed me home and talked to my mom. That was the end of that.

I hope you get caught so you can experience the same feeling as me bro.

I know its offtopic but I disagree. If you disagree with my disagreement then take it up with Vlad and Rob.

You could either get your need for speed out at the track OR slam your car on coil overs so you HAVE to go slow or destroy your oil pan. That way your car looks better and you drive slow. Fixed.

Or do both. And scare the hell out of people at autocross as your skid plate smacks the pavement.

some cars are just meant to be cruisin' with.. down the line you can swap a 24v in it or boost what you got to make it faster, but for now you can hit some corners and have fun with it that way rather than just in a straight line

-- btw I was/is just the same way.. a chipped 3.8 in my M3 still just isn't enough XD .. so keep dreamin' and you'll eventually get what you want ;) ..

your 16 maybe 17, have probably the driving ability of a middle aged chinese soccer mom and want us to tell you how to make your car go 'stupid fast'. I can certainly think of better ways to get you locked up, killed, or have you kill someone else.

You probably have no job, or one with shitty pay and little to nothing saved up. I doubt your parents will fund a motor swap, or buy you 'go fast goodies'. You drive a 26 year old BMW designed with fuel efficiency in mind, with some nice handling characteristics. It's slow. I know going fast is fun, but again, you have little driving experience and no need to go "stupid fast so your friends cars cannot keep up with you".

Cliff notes: your car is slow, save money, learn to drive, but an S50.

Thanks, Im sure taking corners in the roads here is much better than highways

No job, going to college but thats about it, having 3 years of driving and half year driving this given E30 to me is still gonna be an experience for me, you're right i still have yet to learn the characteristics hidden in the eta

i should be contented of what i drive, because not a lot of teenagers here dont drive BMWs especially an E30

I'm 16 y.o here. Being in other fast cars makes me feel like my e30 is slow as shit. But its an amazing car and i Enjoy every minute of driving A classic BMW at this age. I'm going to learn how to drive it a little more, save up and s50/2 it. I'm taking it to the track this summer to actually drive it how it should be driven and learn some good techniques, etc. I think you should do the same.
