 I don't think it's so much about the 5bucks. For me it would be more about principle. Whether it was $5 or $5000 I would have had the same reaction as OP.
 
 If I work for money, I expect to receive it. If OP had let them f8ck him over they would have presumed that it was o.k. to do so, and they would just keep doing it. Even if they continue to do this after he is gone at least he said his part and made his position known.

 ^exactly. $5 is not a lot of money, but it is the money I earned. One other waitress was cheated out of $20 a couple weeks ago. It's BS
