theres a fiesta, then a festiva, then the aspire.

                        those are all 1.3 liters

they all lose the battle with the metro for gas mileage, and they have less interior room ( being shorter and wider.)

However especially the fiesta is much more reliable as its made by mazda. The festiva is designed by mazda, but made by kia. And the aspire is just straight kia crap.
in eurasia those cars were called the mazda 2.
Those are all under 1000$ in perfect condition lol.

A real pimpin metro is the old convertible.
                        only in 3 cylinder though.

the geo storm isuzu impulse is definitely sporty but it doesnt get to 40...

there is also the old school hyundai accent it got 40 mpg.

If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30

for 30-35mpg i'd just get a 318ti or 318i. they pop on clist locally all the time for under $2k. my friend bought one for $1300 and put a few hundred into it. DDs because his m635i gets 15mpg. lol.

currently all the ones on right now are $2k+, but this one is 2200.

Get a run of the mill m10 powered 318i, nothing wrong with it. Just leave it stock. Or get a crx HF and live life scared thinking someone is going to kidnap your precious piece of JDMness

Buying another car for better gas mileage for the purpose of saving money is stupid. The amount you will save in gas doesn't even come close to the amount you will spend on buying the car, registering it, insuring it, and any extra stuff it needs.

You already put a lot into your 24v e30. Put some of that 2k into your e30 for any needed maintenance and you will be getting great gas milage and have a reliable car.
