    Anyone into astronomy?

I heard that there is going to be the largest solar flare happening in 6 years over the next two nights. See here and here

I heard this is going to be pretty cool, also I think it may allow me (lat 49, long 56) to see the northern lights down this far. I've seen them before while traveling around Canada and I know it's an amazing site.

The point of all of this is that I want to take this chick out on a date and thought it would be cool to drive outside of town to escape the light pollution and catch a glimpse. Think it would be worth it or would I not be able to see shit (clear sky pending)?

Anyone else going to look for it?

hard to say, I used to see them all the time In BC and Alberta(northern) but I honestly do not remember seeing them since I moved to NS.

you may get to see them due to the added intensity.

I'm actually in my astro class right now. My teach said that it is moving a lot slower than they expected and that it should be hiting earth today or so.

Cool. Looks like the weather changed here too so there is still a chance!
