I did it and they sent me a new/refurbished nano Gen 6

they sent the envelope and return packaging

works great

My S/N wouldn't work. Spent an hour with customer service trying to figure it out. Got a shipping number though. Should be worth the trouble.

FedEx just dropped of a nano. 17 days total time from filling out request for shipping to getting a replacement.
