Those "preppers" are paranoid/delusional. I sort of feel jealous of the people making $$bank$$ of those idiots.

Entire cities in France/England/Germany got bombed the fuk out, and besides the ones that died instantly or later from wounds, survived. Same with the firebombings in Japan.

The inner city folks are the ones anyone would ever have to worry about...they're used to getting shit handed to them or committing crimes for what they think they need, so I wouldn't put it past them, getting violent and rioting.

If some kind of zombie outbreak were to happen, it would be viral. Not the mystical dead people crap.

I wouldn't say that but you'd have to be retarded to think dead people will roam the streets eating people's brains.

i have not. however, when zombie apocalypse comes, it will first infect owners of large SUVs everywhere. With all of those people turned potential targets I will raid their houses and take their vehicles for all of my zombie-ramming needs. The E30 is staying garaged until the initial outbreak/dieoff passes over.

It makes me think a lot, and also makes me very scared/nervous that....

.... THESE FUCKING PEOPLE EXIST!!!! OMG. Have you seen the chick that rents an apartment, has it stacked with 5 YEARS worth of freeze dried food, because of the impending govt take-over..... yet the dumb bitch only has 100 gallons of water

I don't know what makes her crazier. Thinking that the government WOULD take over the nation, thinking that you could survive it if they did, or having enough freeze dried food to last 5 years, but only enough water (not only to drink, but to reconstitute the dried food) for ~month?????

OMG. These people scare me more than any zombie attack, govt take over, war, dirty bomb...anything. These people need to be in an asylum.

Can't wait for the next one :D

With all due respect, last time I checked water frequently falls from the sky; freeze-dried food does not. And 100 gallons of drinking water will last one person quite a while longer than one month (I think a half-gallon per person per day is a common rule of thumb). As for the food she's stored, not only would it serve her personal needs for quite a while, it would also represent a good stockpile of items for trade/barter (paper money wouldn't have much value if things were ever to really fall apart). Just hope she has guns and ammo (and friends) to defend it should various types of non zombie-based shit hit the fan ... all of which is moot if there were actually some sort of federal gummit (sic) takeover (pretty sure they'd have more and better guns!).

The bigger picture of this show, of course, is that there's a fine line between taking sober precaution for events beyond your control and taking things to extremes. Our parents and grandparents typically stored food, water and other items for emergencies as a matter of routine. Meanwhile, the infrastructure they lived in was far less fragile than the one we have now. Back then, commercial transportation wasn't based almost exclusively on the kind of Internet-driven, last-minute logistics that keeps warehouses full to just the right level and shelves perfectly stocked on a finely tuned schedule. Not to foster paranoia, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize a single, well-placed terrorist EMP device could seriously disrupt food and fuel deliveries to most urban areas for several months at least, not to mention wreak havoc on basic utilities and public services.

No question, a lot of these people are loose-screw conspiracy freaks. That doesn't change the fact that a rational ounce of prevention here and there isn't necessarily a bad idea. You wear a seatbelt when you drive? Same philosophy.
