My car's gas gauge has been broken since I bought it... it is on my shitlist though

It jumps around hella. Not sure if it is the sender or a ground on the back of it

hahaha, i remember my last day living in the bay area last summer, i was driving through the under-water alameda/oakland tunnel to chinatown,
... and ran out of gas in the middle of the fucking tunnel.

caused a MAD backup, got on da news, and some nice brah with a tacoma pulled me out

Both. My gauge is unplugged because I forgot to plug it back in when I did my odo gear (got shipped the wrong gear) so I'm waiting for the right one to come in before I pull the cluster again. Mixed with my cars (77 630csi) horrendous gas mileage. I knew it was low and totally spaced in filling it up. My boss called to have me come in to fill out a W-4 so I just hopped in and went not thinking about gas. Now I'm wasting time that I needed to finish packing and drink beer before my flight in 3hours to WA to pick up my e30.


Only upside is a cute lady cop pulled up behind me to direct traffic. Maybe I'll get behind her later. Giggitty.

20 miles past the orange "dummy" light in the e30 is about all you'll get. any further and you are on borrowed time.

Is your gas gauge broken? Or you one of those people that tries to milk it till next payday cause you cant afford to fill up?

I am kicking myself right now. This is the 4th time in 2 month, 2nd time this week I've run out of gas. Currently sitting in my car sweating my ass off waiting for AAA. So much for hanging out and drinking beer all afternoon.

Ps. Cool story, I'm an idiot, fill up my tank.
