Im running 87 in my e36 now just because the shit tends to be at least .20 a gallon cheaper.
I don't notice it at all.

With gas at 4 bucks a gallon and climbing I'm not driving anywhere anymore.

True, but it doesn't hurt as much to throw $30 in at a time than $60 all at once.

I have a gas can...and it's empty. I'm over running out of gas. I will fill up after work today.

Jeremy, thanks for the offer but AAA saved the day again. Also, thanks for calling kingston.

My GF has a 1 hour drive to work every day. She, therefore, drives the e46, and I DD the M3 on my 12 mile commute. She just started the job Friday and hasn't gotten a paycheck yet (Two week pay cycle).

She got home last night, "Honey, can you put gas in the car?"

    Fine, okay, no problemo.

I get in it, needle below 0.

    WHUUT?

Click OBC to range: 4 miles.

    SRSLY?

On the way to get gas the OBC rolls on down to Range: - - - -

I put 16.43 gallons in the car, 17 gallon tank, $66 at $3.99 a gallon for 93....and that was with $.10 off from using my Kroger card discount.

I told her to fill it up a 1/2 tank from now on. Full fuel ups are killer these days.

Oh well, she's gonna pay for the next oil change and help with new tires since she DD's it now.

I was fine doing a $70 oil change every 3 months, but now when it's $70 to fill up every week....seriously.

That said, I try to squeeze every mile out of the M3 before filling up. I should probably invest in a jerry can as well....

Dude by now you should have a small gas can in the trunk in case this happens.

Mine never leaves the trunk unless its sitting at a race or being poured in the tank. And I havent had to do that in a while.

    Get a gas can!

PS you need some help? At least if you are not too far from me

Hello again r3v, I write you from my e30 today which is out of gas less than 100yards from where I ran out when I started thread. I'm really a moron, I knew I could get away with the gas light being on for a while, and yet again I tried to push it too far. I think I get paid today so I will be able to fill up my tank! I'm so over being poor. At least it's not too hot out yet, and I had some breakfast, otherwise I'd be really pissed. That is all, hopefully I get a visit from that sexy lady cop again.

I made it 40 miles on the light one time -- not sure how that happened. My other car (non-BMW) only goes about 7 miles once the light comes on. The E30 spoiled me.

    You Only Live Once

You're one of those guys aren't you? The kind that tell some ridiculous story hoping that people will believe it and think that you're cool. And then when you get called out on it, you will stick with it until the bitter end.

I've run out of gas a few times in my e30 for sure, my gas gauge stopped working like 2 years ago and my odometer has also since stopped working so i pretty much rely on the reserve light. Also i pretty much only drive the e30 on the weekends these days so I just top it off every time I drive it.

OP. I completely emphasize with you, as I have ran out of gas twice in my life. But 4 times in 2 months!? Ouch. Standing on the side of the road is awk.. I just pop the hood to make it look like my car broke down. Yeah, my hood pops up 'backwards'.. bitch.
