I wish I could.
Anyone bike to work?

I used a combination of bicycle and commuter train for a little over 5 years.
It was awesome.
I have 4 bikes and it depended on my mood & the weather which I would use: a low-end Trek mtn. bike, a 50 year old Schwinn 5 speed, a vintage steel road bike, or a single speed custom made bike.
Fenders and a quality rain outfit are very nice for rainy days.
The only reason I was sad when I lost that job was not commuting by bike anymore.

I ride everyday as well, if you've only got 15-20 minutes to ride, the bike doesn't really matter. I ride a fixed gear, no i'm not a hipster, but it is nice to have in the city and there is no clicking gears that constantly go out of tune.
You can and will get charged with being drunk while on a bicycle, the danger of you swerving into traffic and causing an accident has the same effect regardless of you being in a car / bicycle.Comment

I used to bike to work a couple times a week. It was 35 miles in and 50 out, but I would be gone overnight at work, so only one ride a day. I had an old Litespeed Ultimate road bike with deep dish aero rims and ceramic bearings. It was the perfect set up for the longer commute. The wheels shaved 5-10 minutes off my time, which was about 2 hours in and 2:40 back. If you are only going 15 miles I would just get something cheap and fun to ride. Do it, your workday will be so much better.JOY IS AN E30...

Used to. Now i have to many tools i bring everywhere with me. Id like to get on my next big job and bring the jobox to leave stuff there so i can bike a few times a week. Bikes don't transport 16' sticks of trim very well.
O, and it was always a single speed most the time a fixed gear. Broke to many derailers (sp?) DHing that i don't care for them, until i get a nice touring or cross bike.
edit: x2 on it making your whole day better. i think i ate better, i had more energy most of the timeBeen with me for 16 years...

Ride 12 miles roundtrip to work on a old Raleigh my buddy used to ride daily to work in England. When it got here I had to put her to workOriginally posted by RUFFLZ#BANDISNIGGAOriginally posted by Wh33lhopWhy the fuck would you ever put a drink up there? If you ever have a drink to hold, just put it between your legs. You know, where your balls used to be before you had a girlfriend.Comment

I'm gonna start riding my Stout to work(25km-15mi) 2x/wk to get my lazy ass in shape then i'll probably ride 3x/wk weather-permitting.
I have to change the gearing though. As of right now it has a 32F/18R, to low for a long ride. Anyone have any suggestions??? The ride is 95% flat, the only grade is the Bridge but it's rather mellow.

I ride to school. 15 miles one way, takes me 40-45 minutes. I just wear jeans and a tshirt. I don't wanna go through the hassle of getting completely changed into my road gear just for a commute. I do bring an extra shirt though.
I bought a Mercier Kilo TT off craigslist for 200 bucks. Perfect commuter. Light, simple, clean and good looking.Comment
