In high school some kid stole my ipod nano out of my locker. I told the head master at my school about it and he told me, "keep your mouth shut and your eyes and ears open" -best advice I think in a situation like this. I took his advise and found the kid who stole it with in a week and a half.

i had 2 girls (they had relationships with me and were currently banging each other, still are afaik.) constantly vandalize my car.

they cost me $400-$500 in deductibles. $100 deductible. a few slashed tires (tires were $250) and at one point they keyed my whole car. i installed a nv camera and recorder. but i still kept my eyes and ears open per the previous suggestions. as soon as i found it was them, i confronted them and told them the shit with my car was going to stop immediately. been good so far.

I've learned that people will do crap like that when they "think" they know what/who they're mad at. It's possible you're family is being mistaken by someone. That, or you guys are a bunch of jerks, either one.
