How bout just letting people in and being nice? That's what we down south do. No kidding... people from other parts of the country IE Northeast, West Coast are floored at our courteous actions.
Like Blunt said, I always use my signal. It came with the fucking car right? You guys use your mirrors or your horn? Bet you do. Left turn lanes and signals need to happen so people coming at you can see what you are doing. Not everyone can see or realize you are turning left. Also, cyclists would like a heads up that you actually give a shit. Unless you don't and in that case, fuck your mother.

Also here, the new concept people can't grasp are the double turning lanes. You donno how many people go from one lane to the other, mid turn.

I usually don't slow down before entering the lane. If i have to, I'll signal.

On a side note some bitch in an tahoe almost ran over me in the honda because she went from the inner turn lane to the right lane, forcing me to run over a curb to not get hit. I fucking screamed at her as i drove by and cut her off (not really i was going faster than her). Definitely not the most mature response, but i was fucking pissed. If it was my e30 I would have made her pull over and got her insurance info to pay for any suspension damage.

This!!! I have hate when people think that because their blinker is on, you have to let them in. 90% of the time I will, because I am rather happy they have the courtesy to actually use their turn signal, and are doing so properly. But if your driving like a dick and trying to squeeze in, turn signal or not, I will be that prick in the BMW that doesn't let you in.

What I really hate though, is people that don't merge when construction is coming up on the freeway. You know it's coming down to one lane, but instead of merging when there's room, they fly past everyone going slow and then expect to be let in at the last second before the lane ends.

Or when a lane is ending. All it does is get them 3 or 4 cars ahead and piss off all the people who have to slow down to let them in. People don't understand that the actual amount of time you this saves you is like 5 seconds
