    Does R3V smoke?

been on forums for 15 years since the dawn of time.

everyone used to puff on cigarettes...

is this still the norm for automotive enthusiasts?

personally everytime I quit, and quit successfully the moment I start wrenching on my E30 I get nicotine fits...it's a lose lose situation.

Never have and after seeing my Dad go through heart problems because of smoking, I never will. Just a personal choice, I have no problem with people who smoke.

No cigarettes for me, I don't know why people who take pride in their vehicles would smoke with them.

I do socially, and with my GF. Mainly with her so she has one less for herself. Trying to get her to quit, you see.

I did habitually for a while, but then realized the money I could be saving. Now I use that money on lottery tickets. $500 million Va lottery BABY!

if set myself a quit date, and stick to it and use a patch or other smoking cessation aid i'm all good.

had quit for a good 4 months.

took E30 out of storage, changed oil, and did a couple little things to it-

dealt with a striped/seized bolt and BOOM...hits me like a ton of bricks

it's all a cruel mental game.

                I *NEED* to quit.

I'm 32, not getting any younger (not that it matters)

I really only started smoking (5-7 a day) at a later age in life...
it's bullshit, i'm really pissed off at myself over this.

and like Lambo said...he's had his father suffer through the consequences of smoking.

my dad died at 47 after smoking for 30+ years.

I'm not going down that path...fuck no.

don't smoke but my grandpa started when he was in WWII like at 18 or 19 and now he's 80 and has been smoking like a chimney ever since. His body must have just adapted to the smoke over so many years, make me feel good that I have strong genes in me. My grandma told him to keep smoking because if he stops now she thinks he will die. Luck of the draw with cancer I guess.

Same with my uncle. Battle-hardened from the Lebanese/Israel wars.
He started when he was 15 and is 55 iirc.

Smokes like a chimney as well without a problem.

It's all good but those same fellows that have "no problems" still can't run very far. I know, I smoke off and on as I'm trying to quit and have been smoking for like... 9 years. You don't realize what you CAN'T do until you stop smoking for 3+ months and pick it up again. It's stupid how much endurance/power you really lose.

                              No.

It smells like asshole and you cant taste any food for like 3 days afterwards.

Oh it also gives you cancer.
