How many of you enjoy going to work every day?

    I know I do:

Those are just two of the 20+ race cars we have at our shop. I just started as an apprentance so I get to do a lot of grunt work, aka roll cages and floor pans; but i also get to help doing brakes and other stuff. Today we started on a Carrera S putting in a cage and new floor. We also installed new Recaros and a sweet Momo wheel.

Hopefully I'll get more pictures, and maybe some action shots at the track.

I wish I didn't have to go to school so I could do an internship like that.

I'm a roofer at a manufactured home plant. It's nice because it's construction, so it's hard work and it keeps me in shape, and it's inside. I don't have to deal with weather at all. I don't "enjoy" going everyday, but only because I have to be there so damn early in the morning. But once I'm there I enjoy it, because I'm friends with all the guys that work on my crew, so we have a good time. We crank the stereo up as loud as possible, and rock out all day, fuck around with each other, play pranks and shit, tell jokes, curse like sailors, etc.

If it makes you feel better. I considered suicide every day before and after work. I hated it. So much. Anything would be better. Anything.

Ha... I'm actually about to start an OT thread on how I should write my resignation letter. I'll be getting outta here in 4-7 weeks, depending on when I pass my title agent exam and get my Notary Public bond. I hate everyone that I work with... everyone! Ever since my one friend got transfered down to SC its just been hell cos at least her and I could gripe about the idiots here at work. The main issue is that I am not a social creature with the people I work with. I would rather commit seppuku than go to one of the gay ass picnics or "dinner dances" that these fuckers around here hold. I just like to sit in my cube and do my work, but the fucker who sits next to me likes to come over and talk, even more now that his wife (who works here) left him for another guy who works here. I don't even turn around to look at him, but he still just keeps talking and talking and talking. Whenever a chick starts to work here all the married guys 40+ start to walk around with hard ons and jump at the chance to give them help. The union technicians are mostly idiots and fucking lazy. If I move a table in a conference room I am liable to get a $200 fine because the union people are suppose to do that. And I have to help all of my bosses (about 6 or so) with their computers because they don't know how to use them, although every one of them has been working with a computer for atleast as long as I have been alive (28 yrs). The nuclear industry was one of the first ones to adopt computers so how these idiots don't know how to use them is beyond me.

So... no... I don't like my job. But I am going to quit soon and start my own closing company, which will be nice.

I'm glad you enjoy your work: great to be excited about working in a job that you care about. I've got a friend who started as an intern mechanic with Keith Duckworth and Frank Costin in the pre-Cosworth days and is STILL a racing mechanic. He runs a race shop that specializes in old Brit Motorcycles and Formula Ford race cars and also builds race and high-performance street cars with creativity and sound engineering 40 years later, but now in Northern California. Go to him with a problem or a goal and he'll figure out a way to solve it. He built a suspension and engine for my Volvo 740 Turbo wagon that allowed me to tear up M3s and modded Mustangs on track days!!. Hilarious. I DO have to admit I got a bit nervous when I read:" I just started as an apprentince so I get to do a lot of grunt work, aka roll cages and floor pans; but i also get to help doing brakes and other stuff." Scary that a new guy would build cages and work on brakes: last line of protection. Eeeek.

I worked cashier at a grocery store for 1 1/2 years. I would assume the typical shit high school job. That's what it was, but I was fine with that. The worst part was that the boss had it out for me. Some days I'd have to work janitor (not in my job description), and I'm pretty convinced he hated white people (cheated me on my hours several times and forced overtime when I was underage). At least I know what jobs I'm not cut out for.

I'm worlds happier being out of there. My parents even noticed a change in my behavior.

That's hillarious, it sounds like a sitcom.

I enjoy going to work. I'm a structural engineer in aircraft and I work in a fast paced environment, that challenges me every day. I do 50-60 hour weeks, but get OT. I spend about 1/3 of my day in corporate jets and working with the guys on the floor and the rest designing what I'm working on.
