The Joy of Learning a New Language.

    Has anyone else felt this?
As corny as it may sound, I find it simply awesome.
I was raised in a Persian-American household, and pretty much learned how to speak farsi at the same time that I learned english. While my farsi may not be completely fluent, I can get by pretty well.
This quarter at school, I enrolled in a 'heritage language' course for Farsi, that would fufill my GE Language req, and while it has only been 2 weeks so far, I have suddenly found myself reading and writing a language that has seemed so alien to me my whole life.

Just felt so moved by this, that I felt a cool story bro was necessary.
    That's all, have a good night y'all!

I'm finishing my second semester of Japanese right now and I love it. I never thought I would pick up any language so easily let alone Japanese. It truly feels great to be able to have real conversations and express myself in another language. One of my favourite parts of learning Japanese is finding a totally different understanding of their culture.

        Good stuff.
        Different strokes for different folks.

My first language is Korean. Well I've been in Canada for 8 years now..I'm pretty comfortable using English daily but my pronunciation and accent makes me kinda annoying (I don't realize it until I hear myself talking).

For us Japanese would be the easiest second language to learn, similiar grammer structure, easy pronunciation, similiar vocabulary, etc.

english was my second. its been ten years at first it was all spanish little english as far as thought process, but now its the other way around funny how that works. im fluent in both, but i need to shape up in my spanish. easiest way to learn is go somewhere youll be spoken to in the language you want to learn.

hahaha, we know of people that have never been heard of again after going to Iran.
I think I'll stick on my current path of economics/enviromental studies ;) although working for the gov would be pretty cool...

My second language was german, first being english. Im dutch/german heritage so it came naturally to me. However its been too long and I've lost my touch. Id really like to learn dutch now though.

I must say, I've always hated learning new languages. I love different cultures, traveling etc, but I just can't pick up new languages for the life of me. German was the only other language that came to me pretty easily.
