    exactly.

He deserves a traffic ticket (infraction) for driving the wrong way down a road.

All the conservatives on this board love to fly the banner of "personal responsibility". How about the dumb waffleswaffleswaffleswaffles that stuck her foot in front of a moving vehicle??

All the conservatives on this board love to fly the banner of "self defense". Can you blame him for wanting to get the fuck out after being punched in he face and having his nose broken? Shit, if he'd had been in Florida he could have shot the guy dead and walked away a free man.

Justice in the US is capricious and arbitrary. An acquaintance of mine in Ohio recently brought to my attention a case where a drunk woman on a cell phone ran down, dragged, and left for dead a cyclist she hit. Her penalty? 30 days in jail. Her lawyer called it a "freak accident". Whatever.

Justice is bought. In any country at any time.
        Good lawyers = money
paying off officials(many other countries) = money

I agree the arrest/sentence is way over the top.

OK, next time you get a speeding ticket i want to see you get 5-7 years in prison. Driving fast, just like driving the wrong way down a 1-way street, endangers lives.

is it OK for me to come over and brake your face?

If its not i guess you would do the same as that guy did and try to get away from it, and thats when he by accident hurt soemones toe.
Before any of that, I was taught unlike this asshat to #1 Not F*cking Panic in any driving situation. I actually have tons of one way streets in my state, so to say I haven't been in a situation of wrong way, wrong street, you don't know shit compared to this won't fly either. He should have kept the windows rolled up, stayed still until the crowd moves around him, and hell even call 911 about the situation. I mean really, who rolls the window down at an angry mob?

                He ran over someone's foot
Every witness at the scene says that foreign dude was at fault and could have killed everyone in his panicking and confusion (which is totally true)

It sucks that things started out like that but it's all about how the situation ends up...kind of like in grade school when some jerk trips/knocks you down and you get up and punch the kid who did it...Teacher only sees that you are a wild n crazy kid getting up off the ground and punching other students...No one cares to hear "But he started it..."

my dad always would reply "You should have ended it"

Hell, I got a ticket for riding my bike the wrong way down a oneway street in Downtown Portland years ago..

And that happened at 3 AM on a Sunday morning..

That asshole who rolled down the windows and thougt the guy outside was there to help?
That asshole that wasnt known in town and made a minor mistake driving wrong way?
That asshole who didnt like to get his nose broken?
That asshole who didnt call 911?

Really cant see what makes him an asshole..

He been bullied and beaten all his life until almost retardet and had to move to another country to know he will never meet those people agian,
and now he is in prison for 7,5 year locked up together with killers and the meanest people he will ever meet.
When he asked if he could be transferred to "the less security area" where theres mostly crackheads and light criminals they sayd no, that would be the same as to put a shark in a fishtank..

Becouse he has driven a car and accidently hurt someones toe to get away from getting his face even more smashed.

Oh, and btw.. reason for driving down that street was to get to the garage where their car was, to get their luggage from it, since it broke and they just picked up a rental.

Sometthiing your article leaves. out and I am sure applies. The street was closed, you know for a festival. That means he drove around road closed signs, once you drive around those unlless you live on that street anything that happens you are liable for. You inscurance won't cover it and the fines are bigger.

Again not saying the punismnet fits the crime but there is a lot we don't know I am sure.

Darrin driving is dangerous and put lives at risk by its very nature, but its a risk we all take every day. Not to mention the idots that were swarming a moving car are not the sharpest crayons in the box and shoud bare some of the responsabilty for this situation.

I'd like to see that correlated with first-time vs multiple-offenses etc.
