I do agree with the NJ having to drive ridiculously fast just to keep out of the way. I was driving much slower on turnpikes there then I do on the hundred series highways here at home and it was nerve wracking. Cars following too closely, merging too closely, changing lanes aggressively, etc.

That being said, I still don't agree with the ones who claim that say that you shouldn't be charged for breaking the laws.

For reference, this is a screenshot of one of the main highways that goes from one end of the province almost to the other.

I really think that highways in Canada are designed safer and maintained better than in the US from what I've experienced. I was doing 170 km/h through New Brunswick at some points but then once I crossed into Maine even on the I95 I couldn't see me being able to go that fast without the car bouncing deep into the forest somewhere.

Yeah, I know I just admitted to going 60 km/h over the speed limit, but if I had been caught by the RCMP, I would have taken whatever fines or charges I got and blamed no one but myself.

Aren't all you Americans about taking personal responsibility, unlike us socialist Nazi ex-British colonies?

I've seen some of the elevated highway structures in america's hat that are held together with hit ins and expanded steel. I genuinely feared for my life driving (and over) under them.

You break the rules and get caught, you pay the consequences. Quit bitching about cops trying to take your money when you're fully aware that doing exactly what you are doing will have monetary repercussions.
agree, it's common sense to know how to play the catch me if you can game. I speed and run stop signs, etc. knowing that one day I might get caught it is the game I play. If I get caught I pay it. If i don't do that stuff then I should have no problems with the law. Pretty simple people

I'm not gonna bother getting to caught up in this debate, as American traffic (and police interaction) is very different to the way it is here. But I will say that people who choose not to follow the rules are the ones ruining it for the rest of us.

Just out of curiosity, in what lane were you travelling at the time?

We can get done for 4km/h over the speed limit. that's 2.4mph.
