Defender is awesome, that's where it stops. Do yourselfs a favor and buy jeeps instead.

I'll have a Discovery one day. Testing the waters with a roughed up RR LWB to see how I like the platform.

Jeeps are alright, but they're American, and all the rednecks around here have Jeeps. I need something classy, and have always loved Rovers and MB G-wagons.

Are these things really reliable? I am seeing quite a few on kijiji with low miles for about $5k. Could be worth it.

                  stock up on headgaskets.

                  that's all i'm saying.

IMO they are really good looking junkpiles.

but that's just one mans opinion.

                    M52 headgaskets? (In my case.....)

The only problem, IMO, is the air ride and the Lucas electrical systems. I'm talking about the older ones. Just have to remember, they're a British automobile. They have British automobile problems.

Almost had my hands on a discovery in like 2006. Fell in love with it when i decided to put it to the test during the test drive and the dealer was all about it.

It's one of those "it's great if you can fix it yourself" kinda things I guess.

10Toes how would you compare the 2?

I was gonna ride on the roof, feet inside the sunroof, with my SKS and a bandanna on my head with a Che Guevara shirt. Too much?
