This German guy is interesting. He just lifts the whole body off to get to the driveline. Here's one on the ZF transmission -

LRTime is great but I think they go above and beyond (for example, lifting the body off to do this lol)

My plan is to just drain and fill with Valvoline MaxLife ATF. Not the original ZF LL6 Fluid, but meets the spec and is significantly cheaper.
If it fixes the issue, great.
If there's a small improvement but still has issues, I'll drive for a few weeks and drain/fill again - I think you only get ~50% of the fluid with this method.

If no improvement, I'm probably going to drop the pan. Maybe I'll look into it a bit more, but most people drop the plastic ZF pan, and cut off the integrated pickup tube so they don't need to remove the crossmember (and maybe the exhaust crossover?)
Drop the valve body, replace the 4 seals between the trans and valve body + Mechatronic sleeve ( https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-4...-and-seal-kit/ )
throw a 2-piece metal pan+filter with the Lubelocker gasket on, and refill.

If it still doesn't work after that, it's probably solenoids, and I think that's the point where I'd start looking into a ZF8HP swap. New ZF solenoid kit is like $450 (USD) but after having the pan apart once, I'd probably be pissed enough to take the nuclear option.
