Just bought/traded my dad for his old Disco series II (LE). It's got 2.5" Springs with OME shocks, TJM front bumper, Greg Davis rear bumper and Rovertym sliders (both yet to be installed). He bought it new in 2001 but it had kind of been demoted to spare vehicle duty, I spent some time and money getting it back roadworthy and then we struck a deal. It has 155k miles on it, never had an issue other than coil packs, a valve cover gasket and a few old coolant lines. I need to find another set of wheels/tires so I can do some wheeling! Are 33's pretty much the limit with stock axles and gears?

Just finished battling with our p38. Had a low oil pressure/knocking issue. Uh oh.

Initially thought it was the oil pump gone bad. Pulled the front case/pan oil pump was in good condition da fuq?! After further inspection turned out the rod bearings were shot. Pulled a bearing out & was worn down to copper. Changed em out new seals & timing chain now she rollin again! Knocking is gone & oil pressure restored. For how long I do not know...

That's where I'm stopping. I have spare axles, but I don't want to change them if I don't have to. I hear if you have a light foot and are pretty careful you can run bigger on stock Rover axles, but I don't wanna chance it.

Also, I read that a Rover on 33"s is more capable than a Jeep on 35"s.

I'm looking into swapping some Toyota axles, or, IIRC, some you can just swap the axle guts into the Rover housings. We'll see. I'm still debating on how to squeeze more power from my M52.

In other news, I have some nice 1" spring spacer material on the way. If I can find time this week I may tear 'er apart and get 'er lifted with the 33"s. We'll see.

So, we had a manday on Saturday. Took some trucks off-roading and such.

I couldn't make it up the rock in the next few with my old tires. 33s made all the difference.

These last two, I drove over. There is a video somewhere. Scraped a bit, but overall cleared them. It's like the "right of passage" rocks on the trail.

Then, just a couple hours ago I picked up this:

Ess fifty two bottom end. ^_^

So, I've been trying to track down a fuel smell for a while. I keep getting little dots on the rear hatch. I've been pulling my hair out.

So, after hearing about the fuel tank recall on these trucks, I decided to give the "local" dealer a ring. I figured, it's been a long time since the recall, surely someone has done it. Well, this was not the case. My truck has not had said recall preformed, which means I get to take my M52 swapped RRC to the Land Rover dealer to have a brand-spanking new fuel tank installed for free.

                        Yay me.

Lamorna Garage in Seattle...that's my son's old RRC on the end. She didn't survive all the abuse she had endured before we got her. He traded her in for the parts and moved on to a nice reliable 95 D1.
