    Saving the last Saab 9-3

Please help save the heritage of one of the finest brands that ever existed. Show that BMW fans care :)

I just donated 50 euro. They have 2 weeks left but still need a little over 2K euros more.

      Throwing them $20.

It's a shame to see such a respectable auto manufacturer have its plug pulled by GM.

Didn't they sell off the cars in the Saab museum already?

So it will be sitting alone?

The museum got saved by a bunch of people including Saab aircraft manufacturer and the government.

I say crush it. We got jacked out of 11 months of warranty on wifes 9-7x when they bankrupt. Not to mention the ass rape we took on trading it in shortly there after. I am sure we were not the only ones to get shafted. Replaced it with an X5, so I guess something good came of it all. Sorry for the rant/

well... if you bought a 9-7x you really didn't buy a Saab... All it is, is a GM made in Mexico that was branded as a Saab.

All the nasty stuff that went wrong with the company after GM purchased it, doesn't nullify all the great heritage of the brand and the great cars they built before they got purchased and destroyed by GM.

Seriously? The company made ugly cars and couldnt compete on any level. Blame GM all you want but if GM hadnt bought htem SAAB would have been gone ever sooner. SAAB marketing wrote a lot of checks the cars couldnt cash.
                Im now E30less.

I never once saw a jet engine powered Saab. "Born from Jets"? Nahh....

Yea it was a glorified trailblazer, I do agree they have great heritage especially in rally, but the car they want to save is also built on a GM platform. they should have folded with dignity years ago.

Agreed. But this one at least was built in Trollhattan by real Saab employees and will be the last one to roll of their assembly line. Even if it was built on a Tata Nano platform it would still be a part of that company's history and if nothing else a testament to how it all went wrong.

Um, GM sold them. Spyker, the tiny niche automotive outfit with "questionable" russian funding sources bought them with the impression that they would be able to land a sort of "bailout" arrangement from the Swedish government. That never materialized, and the whole thing fell apart. Hence, SAAB be gone. It's got nothing to do with GM.
