there is an assemblyman in the bay area who sponsers a periodic contest called 'there oughta be a law' for his constituents to propose legislative ideas. job performance evaluation is by number of laws passed.

problem is, too many laws already. my kids are learning shite at school because of stupid mandatory studies that force out the important stuff.

Yeah. I totally agree, I left California three years ago. I now own my own shop. I make half of what I made in SoCal, but I'm the boss, and the cost of living is much lower.
