I just got a 98 maxima for commuting. It is the shittiest most boring car ive ever owned. FWD sucks, if the AC is on, i can barely get going, it handles like a boat. but hey... it has cupholders....

I have the parts I can sell you to make it very fun. Mine would roast tires all the way to fifth no problem. Cattman intake, Stillen exhaust, H&R race on KYB Agx's. LSD 5 speed swap with fidanza flywheel and ACT 6 puck, etc.

What year? The 2.5's are prone to catalytic converter failures, which take out the engine with them. The converter is too close to the head due to emissions requirements. Once it goes out, the dust gets sucked back into the engine and rapes the rings. (Explained, just in case some smart ass tells me that a cat won't destroy an engine.)

The PO actually had a complete new exhaust system put in before he sold it, b/c he thought his daughter was going to be driving it. It included the cat per the paperwork and bill. I Was not aware, ty

NP man, I can't remember the years exactly but pretty much all of the 2.5's were affected.

In 2 years at Nissan, I personally replaced about 5 engines for this failure. Most of them in the early summer months.
