They even got me in at $103 a night instead of $116. You know my Jew ass is happy about that!1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

I have had this happen to me before. I was going to a conference in california and was booked at the Hilton where the event was being held. They called me the night before I was leaving and told me I was moved (didn't ask me at all) to some Super 8 or other much lower end place but they were going to give me a discount on the room rate. I was fuming mad, canceled the whole thing and found some botique hotel that was right next to the hilton which was a much better choice anyway. In the end it was a pain but I was happy with here I stayed.2011 JGC daily, 1985 944Comment

The major thing for me is being able to walk to my room. No driving. If it's anything like last year I'll be going to bed at 4:30am....1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

Personally, I would stick to my guns and hold the room at the Hawthorne but I'm a real 'principle of the matter' kind of guy
I would also recommend that 'Marie' recieves some re-education concerning written communication skills...too...many...elipses...not...enough...act ual...thoughtComment

I'm actually pretty satisfied. I can see both hotels in Google maps zoomed in on the same screen. Other place looks more my style. Old industrial building, etc. Who knows, maybe I'll like it better and book it for next year. (Probably)1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

The whole "We're putting you at the Holiday Inn two exits down" thing is what really pissed me off.
Honestly, am I going to take it any further? As long as I have my room where they say it will be, no. If not, I'm walking the walking distance up to the Hawthorne and laying waste to them.
Will I book at the H again? Probably not, unless this other place is absolute garbage.

Which it doesn't look to be from this.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

Slamming'
I don't post on here much, but as a Hotel GM with 20 years experience, I thought I would chime in with a bit of advice.
I wouldn't have any more contact with the hotel via email or phone. Just arrive early on check in day with a copy of you confirmation and check in as if nothing is out of the ordinary. If they mention moving you to another hotel, just brush it off.."yeah, they called me about that, but I told them it wasn't possible and they said they'd ask someone else."
They'll probably just check you in and then walk someone else at the end of the night. Fwiw, they probably don't have a hospital patient, someone in their reservations department forgot to "shutoff" these dates and now they're oversold...pretty significantly, I might add if they're trying to walk people in advance. (ask me how I know, lol)
Hope it works out and I get to see the e28 on Saturday.sigpicComment

It did. I got a confirmation e-mail with a number for the Brookstown Inn. I'm actually pretty satisfied as I'm still right there at the action.
Don't get your hopes up, my e28 is a turd turd turd. ;) But it's fast.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

Glad it worked out for you. If you want to turn the knife a bit, write a review on TripAdvisor, we hate bad reviews on TripAdvisor.
btw, I'm coming from Patrick County, Va. Are you anywhere near here?sigpicComment

Will do!
I'm coming from Augusta Co. Probably roll down 29, seems to be the best route from here. I'll be late though, banking on NOT getting off work early tomorrow. -_-1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment
