Halo 4 details and update thread.

Some on here know I am a die hard Halo fan. So with the launch of E3 convention, there looks like new hope!

I know there is a few people looking forwards to the new launch of Halo from 343 Industries. So most know that the 3 round burst Battle Rifle is back. Whispers are that the armor abilities are being removed for some play lists. I am not 100% on that so time will tell. I also know this forum is more of a CoD/BField type of gamers, but I am hoping they bring back the competitiveness of Halo to H4. I am a hardcore play to win MLG 50 and 50 in every list, I know that means nothing to non-Halo people. But this is a hobby and Reach made me hate what path Bungie took in making their new title. Removed everything that made Halo amazing and tried something dumb.

IE: No skill based rank system(cod style lame ass win if you lose shit)
Bloom on all weapons(dumb for Master Cheif that can flip tanks and fire .50cal turrets lol)

Not making this a rant but it looks like 343 is doing us old school Halo guys right with this new launch. So here is some videos and enjoy the crisp amazing footage!

I got into it when a friend finally convinced me after 2 semesters of school to get halo3 after it had been out like a year and I was hooked. I used to seriously kick butt. Like a +10 KD every match butt the came reach.... Havnt touched halo since. So I'm really looking forward to them getting everything back on track.

I also heard about some user created movie mini series they're gonna have coming out soon.

Sorry, but Halo 4 is gonna blow. I'm the same type of player as you, I want a game that will provide the best competitive platform possible but I just don't see 343 being able to provide that. For starters, the BR, being a burst weapon, is not preferable to a single shot weapon. The burst removes a great deal of difficulty in aiming when it comes to picking off one-shots. What's more, in Halo 3 the BR has had a random spread to it's burst and that feature is returning for Halo 4. That greatly decreases the effectiveness of the gun and, while it does work better on LAN, it essentially turns longer range battles into a coin toss. If it were more similar to the H2 BR I would be a bit happier, but for whatever reason they thought they got the formula right in H3. They did at least bring the DMR back, but they also brought back bloom and gave it a 14 round clip. It's also safe to assume that they'll be bringing back the massive fucking hitboxes from Reach, seeing as H4 is built on Reach's engine.

Not only are they failing yet again at giving us a solid utility weapon, it appears that 343 thought the problem with Reach is that it wasn't enough like CoD. So we're getting a slew of classes with all sorts of "perks" to choose from. It's AAs on steroids. Sprint, btw, is no longer an AA, it's default for everyone. You can also choose between a number of different weapons to spawn with, so they're moving even farther away from an even playing field. Ooh, and no more set weapon and powerup spawns on the map, instead we're getting random ordinance drops!

tl;dr: Halo 4 is going to somehow be worse than Reach, which was somehow worse than Halo 3. I'll pass on buying Halo 4 and stick with LANing Halo: CE still.
