    Same thing that happens with anything in a modern drive-by-wire BMW, you use the mechanical brakes to safely come to a stop and call a tow truck.

      "Cannot handle" 7 gears?! BMW forced us to handle early idrive so surely we could handle one more cog. a manual without a mechanical linkage is a pointless object
