    Oral surgery

Just got my wisdom teeth plus 2 failed root canals ripped out. Fun story, I woke up in the middle of it all.

Anyway how many of you r3vers have had to deal with this and any pointers for a less miserable recovery?

I'm pumped they actually gave me hydrocodone. I'm not a fan of taking heavy meds like that but I'll be damned if I didn't just take one of the best 2 hour naps of my life.

I'm pumped about the tea suggestion from your thread cause I have like 6 banging flavors in my cupboard. That's going in as soon as the gauze comes out.

How long before you guys were eating "real" food again. Ive got a bunch of stiff to mix up smoothies with some good supplements to boost up fiber, protein, and omega 3's so that should keep my full longer. Any other good things to chow on?

Luckily I never have to worry about my wisdom teeth. Dentist told me they will never surface!! Friend gave me his whole capsule of Vicodin after his surgery. Took the whole thing & omg I was high on pills for a month. Don't normally do that kind of thing, but sheesh if I wasn't already a crack head I'd be addicted to Vicodin.

Dude you think that's bad? I have to get oral surgery to fix an underbite, not to mention they are going to be pulling wisdom teeth as well. 1 month of not eating real / good food. FML.

Wisdom teeth didn't hurt that much for me. Probably because of the ludicrous amount of pills I was taking. What did suck though was my mom scheduled my surgery for THE FUCKING DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING so I couldn't eat anything. I was pretty irate.

Got all 4 out like a month ago. The whole process was seriously painless and the hydrocodin didn't lemme sleep for some odd reason, instead I was acting mad hyper haha

Got mine out a month ago. Took me about one week to get back onto semi-solid food, and about two weeks before I could eat normal food. Don't eat any nuts, or chips, or anything that becomes sharp when chewed, you will instantly regret it. Don't use a straw, don't create any suction at all (may be more difficult for some haha).

I just took the pain meds they suggested and slowly weened off onto Ibuprofin (advil). Majority of pain was gone after a week (one tooth was really bad for me, your mileage may vary).

                          Keep it slideways!!

                            sleep, and jamba juice.
the narcos they gave me did not help pain at all but instead made me loopy as fuck.
stopped taking those after the first time i did lol.
apparently while i was still on the sedatives from my wisdom teeth surgery i managed to tell the nurse who helped me to my moms car she was really nice,
then go on in the car to my mom telling her how nice the nurse was,
then texting my neighbor to come over then my sister and my neighbor helped me in the door and i sat on the couch, trying to drink jamba juice and pretty much took a bath in it.

fun stuff, would get my wisdom teeth removed again.

                              scrambled eggs for meals.

It all depends on the person. For me there was pain for the first day after then nothing. Stopped taking the painkillers. DONT LICK YOUR STITCHES! I know its tempting because they are right there. I got a pain a week later because I licked my stitches out and got a dry socket.
