It won't take you very long to get used to it. I think it took me 10 hours to get it running right my first time rooting (On the inspire no less). The biggest things for the inspire are the radio and the speaker fix. Without the speaker fix it sounds super tinny, and is annoying as hell. Just a simple update that you do in bootloader once the phone is rooted, unless the rom you get has it. Which almost all of them now do.

So from my understanding so far the first link does everything the second link tells you to do in one click?

If you give up on the phone I have good suggestions.

I personally own a: Motorolla droid bionic. Its a great phone, only glitches up sometimes around is super fast on Verizon 4gLTE. On the negative side the phone heats like a boss when playing games, is like a nuclear reactor.

          Others id suggest:
Droid X2 - great for the prices
Samsung galaxy nexus - ics ftw
Droid razer max - battery power and small size
          1989 BMW 325is | 2019 Ford Ranger FX4

The wife and I are rocking the ancient and AWESOME HTC EVO 4g. Probably the best phone I've ever owned. I have mine rooted with a custom ROM, but the wife's is stock and it works well for her needs.

You can play NES and SNES games using an emulator and a PS3 wireless controller after rooting.

                      ;)
