A few years ago my wife was staying at our aunties place in a +100 year old house in St. Kilda. As it didnt have a guest room she was sleeping on a inflatable mattress in the living room. It was early in the morning (1 or 2ish) and she was still up doing some light reading on the mattress on the floor of the room as she wasnt tired enough to sleep.
At first she felt a presents in the room and didnt really think anything of it. Then it was as if some one had come in and sat down on the couch behind where she was, the cushion of the couch was depressed with weigh as if a person was sitting there but no-one was there. She thought it was just her mind playing up on her from lack of sleep so turned the light of and tucked herself into bed. Just shortly after she felt the same presents again except this time it grabbed her at the shoulders and was shaking her back and forward as someone would trying to wake her up! She kept her eyes firmly closed as she knew what ever it was she didnt want to see. After 10 secs or so it stopped and didnt return.
My father in Law also stayed in the same house and slept in the same living room a year later. He described hearing 'loud footsteps' leading up the long hallway from the kitchen and then creaking of the wardrobe door opening and then closing behind itself as if someone had climbed into it and shut themselves in.
My auntie has said that there have been so many times that she lost count of things moving, noises and footsteps in the night, and sightings. She says she has seen the 'spirit' a few times and describes him as a middle aged man well dressed in a grey suit and hat.
After finding out more about the history of the house turns out a 60 yo polish immigrant lived in the house for 20 odd years and died there in about the 1950's, and as my family is Polish my guess is hes trying to connect with people he understands...
Either way im not sleeping there anytime soon haha

I do believe you man. People don't usual believe in these things until it happens to them or they become witness to it, so good luck convincing anyone here.
I'll advice you to trying staying over again, but obviously not by yourself this time I mean you're scared as fuck and it be better to have a witness. BTW put the gun away its of no use, may end up shooting your companion, you're dealing with a pretty powerful entity(supernatural,) I mean if it turned on stoves on in the way you described, thats no ordinary ghost. could be demon. What it was, wanted you out the house that night.
Try looking into history of your house or the land it was built on,Leave a comment:

I've heard my mothers voice about a half a dozen times and she has been gone for almost 25 years. Not sure what to make of it.Leave a comment:

21st birthday this Sunday. I was thinking it may have been some friends fucking with me at first, but I was yelling "if this is someone fucking with me, you're literally about to get shot" my friends would have said "whoa, whoa, whoa it's ...." knowing my gun collection. Not to mention not one of them can find the house without following me there. But next time I go up, I'm designating my M4 to be the house gun, then I'll have 30 rounds per mag of security lol.
and Urbancynic, that's creepy as fuck.Leave a comment:

lmao.
-Of course they checked the garage, but I'm within regulation so they could give a shit. I was even complimented by one officer lawl.
-My only neighbor is Dale, and he smokes weed too...along with 98% of this town. I gave him like 5 plants to tend to outside, he enjoys it lol.
-Weed doesn't make me paranoid in the least bit, it makes me laugh at shit that isn't funny. Go to the movies with me, I'll be the one laughing when no one else is lol. I've smoked more weed than you can imagine, especially at this house. I also typically live here during the summer, so this is a FIRST for sure.
-You have to agree that if you heard 5 random doors slam one after another in a controlled test, you could easily pick out which one was your front door. They all have a specific sound to them that you're familiar with.
-As for the footsteps, it could be rationalized as paranoia, had I been paranoid in the first place. I was stoned as shit, in a great mood, about to watch a funny ass movie. Nothing to be on edge about.
Now had I eaten some mushrooms or something, then I'd be the first to say damn, I was tripping balls. But I didn't, and these events were also witnessed by another party. Creepy
With the window open (very top window) to the master bedroom, look where it is in relation to the front door. I heard that shit loud and clear.

I might try to say yes. My grannie's house in warsaw, poland just gives me the fucking creeps. Whenever I go to sleep there at certain nights I hear foot steps and people talking right above me and will stop when I start yelling at who it is. (Granny slept downstairs, I slept 2nd story and the noises were on the 3rd) The crazy part is that the floor were the noises come from is completely closed off (to prevent the heat escaping to the un used floor) and is rather difficult to get up to.
I had my gf at the time visit on year without telling her about this kind of stuff. One night she woke me up and told me that the people living upstairs were too loud. Let's just say she didnt want to stay in that house after I told her that there couldn't possibly be anyone up stairs.Leave a comment:

When I was about 10 on a saturday morning there was a knock on the door from 2 cops. They said they'd received a 911 call from our address from a man who'd only said "help" before they hung up.
This was strange because I was the first one up that morning and i had only just woken up. Cops checked it out and found everyone was ok so they left. We just blew it off as something weird.
A few days later my mom got a call from her sister saying she found her stepdad dead in his house in Tennessee. The cops in Tennessee said hed died on that saturday from a heart attack.
Coincidence? Maybe. Still really weird.Leave a comment:
