This whole thread concept relatively goes against what the Eagle Scout project is all about...

use a couple of large PVC pipes at the bottom of the planter box: drill holes all down it, sink in the dirt, cover with gravel before adding soil on top. Call 811 before/if you dig.
Look at some of the wsbdot standard plans for some ideas.
Something like this might be all you need for your project. Just plant some stuff in the box's.

So obviously I need pressure treated 4x4's cause they will be in the ground, but what about the sides of the planter box? I figure stacked 2X4s will work..? but do they need to be pressure treated as well? I am thinking not.. I will have a good coat of stain on themComment
