HEY!!! i'm Jacob, i'm also am at auburn! i always see your e30 parked in the RO field. i drive the red e34 540i around. i live on the hill, which dorms are you in? Village, hill, or quad?
But, any way, ya, the choices for food here are kinda skimpy. Au bon pain has a few healthy items on the menu, but like most on-campus eateries, each meal is $7-$11. Subway isn't that bad. Crepe myrtle cafe is pretty good but not something you would eat at every day because it is off campus. (corner of S. College and Donahue) Really though if you want to eat cheap and healthy at auburn you need to be in an apartment where you can buy all of your food at the grocery store. (wal-mart, winn dixie, publix, sams, and kroger are about it) If you have a freezer and fridge you could always get frozen meals. Oh, and if you havn't checked it out yet, drive over to Opelika Road. there are quite a few restaurants and eateries over there as well as a mall.
Sorry if i couldn't be of much help but i will also be watching this thread for some ideas. Maybe if you have some free time, pm me and let me know if you'd want to meet up and maybe have a mini-bmw meet ;)

Hope you like canned tuna! If you eat frozen microwaved food every day for 4 years, you`re going to come out of there 300lb`s and with heart disease. Brown rice, can steam most vegi`s in a microwave, salad`s, shakes both fruit and protein since you`ll be short on meat proteins if all you have is a microwave to cook with.Comment

I started college September 2011 @ 6' 2" 164 lbs.
Now, after a long summer of training (with another 4 weeks of pre-season training to go),
I am at 190 lbs. Been on a pretty strict protein regiment.
I test myself on the rowing machine and lift everyday throughout the week, with cycling mixed in.
I was hella skinny back then. I'm still slim, not ripped by any means.
I've had ok definition for the last few years, but I've been trying to bulk up.
Last school year, I spent a LOT on food.
My student meal plan ran out back in February. Till may, I had to spend out the ass.
Then, I moved back home in July, and started eating normally again.
It is really amazing what a proper diet, albeit with a little junk food mixed in, can help you gain healthy weight with exercise.
Sooooo stoked about living in an apartment next year, not in the fucking damned dorms.

We seriously need to meet up. I gotta check out your car. I seriously havent seen an other BMW enthusiast since i moved to birmingham.
I'll shoot you a PM.
Thanks for the suggestions so far guys. Im definitely taking some of them into consideration. I know it will be tough not to gain weight while im living the college life, but im at least attempting to slow the process down :D
Im beginning to make it a priority to go running every now and then, so that will help too.Last edited by spike68; 08-26-2012, 07:52 PM.I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.

Eat brown rice every day. Tastes good, healthy, super easy to make, goes well with anything.
I throw some veggies in a cup with water, steam them in the microwave, and then add that in with the rice. For breakfast (high protein) I do navy beans, brown rice, eggs, and veggies with some fresh meat. You can also do quaker oats for breakfast with some fruit or something. I always keep some cottage cheese in the fridge as well for a snack
Works well for me.320I - under constructionComment

I learned to enjoy the dining hall. Everyone talked about how it made you poop real bad but who cares? You're staying regular at least..
On another note, like it was said above, get in the gym. If you aren't already, then make some changes. Join a club team or something, it's a great way to meet people, keep yourself in shape, and save money from being in greek life.Comment

Here's an easy pasta sauce for you. I usually just wing it(that's half the fun) and I like it with whole wheat pasta. I don't remember exact quantities, so just make it to taste. That's what I always do.
Ingredients:
-Cherry tomatoes(or similar...any of the small tomatoes work). I usually use one of those little 4x4x4" cartons worth.
-Olive Oil
-Salt
-Pepper
-Garlic(fresh is best, but crushed garlic works just as well)
-Anything else you want...red wine, crushed red, balsamic, onion, etc.....add this stuff as you get better at it
Directions:
1) Cut tomatoes in half, dice a couple cloves of garlic
2)Add olive oil to pan(a fiar bit...maybe quarter cup), medium heat. Saute garlic for a couple minutes
3) Add tomatoes, salt, and pepper. The salt sweats the tomatoes and draws the liquid out of them
4) After about 5 minutes, crush the tomatoes in the pan with a fork
5) Continue to cook on medium heat and reduce until the consistency is to your liking.
6) Serve over pasta and enjoy.sigpic
