My dad just showed me the footage that a new channel had of it. 38' Fountain went over a wake to fast (obviously) and threw to the floor. The guy cuts the throttle half way through the wake, it obviously didn't help.

It wasn't speed that caused that, it was bad piloting. Looks like he hit a wave on the side, not across it, and it just rocked the boat and threw him. Should have turned left hand down and cut over the wave.

No, speed (and obviously bad driving) was the only thing that caused it. If he wasn't going full throttle (presumably) he wouldn't have gotten airborne in the first place.

This is it. You never take a wake broadside. I guess none of you guys have been in a bass boat. Not usually good for lakes with large, displacement hull boats. Fourth of July fireworks at Smith Mtn Lake on an 18 footer? CRAZY! 1000 boats dipping out in the dark in all directions. Random, huge wakes from the really big boats...exciting ride home.
