I have a pretty nice sized room on campus, but eating expenses here are insane. The best deal for eating here is the cafeteria, which is all you can eat for either ~$6 or one "block meal", which you can purchase as part of your meal plan at the beginning of each semester. We eat off campus a lot, needless to say.
"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."
ha, I was in the honors college, got the big dorm rooms with AC. I have no idea how people lived in those closets.
But there's an easy solution, move out. I always found it cheaper to live/eat off campus.
Honors college is the sweetest scam in the world. Next year I get to move into the apartments, and those are great compared to the crap that other upperclassmen get. Parking is the only drawback I have with university housing.
haha. n00b. later you'll look past the size of the room and realize it is part of the experience. like the community-aspect of being on a floor, and being able to meet a lot of new people. you might even miss the dorms like me when you move off campus because you don't see everyone as often besides your roommate and his gf.
Why'd you buy the new version of the "Justification for Higher Education"?
I have the old ass one with a E30 cab on it, 80s Vette, Testarossa, 928, and some old Merc on there. It's great. ;)
My math teacher in HS had the older version and I was going to steal it by the end of the year b/c my car was on it, but when I came here, they had this one on a table and it was cheap. Its not being displayed any longer, now its just a lot of small BMW posters.
Last year I spent quite a bit of time on the 10th floor of Manning...
My sister moved out to the Ridge this year though.... and apartment>dorm room X99999999
EDIT: haha at the "becoming a master student"
Awesome, I've been to Manning a few times, but just because I get locked out of Mauldin b/c I forget my key a lot. I spend a lot of time in Lever, I may as well live there as well. The dorms here aren't bad, I have no complaints. Its part of college life.
haha sucks. my dorm was the shit. got a 1st floor suite. first door (witha lock) was to the living room, which had a bunch of couches and chairs. we used one end table as a coffee table, and put a tv in and linked cable to one of the rooms. one wall was all glass, with french doors out to a patio.
my bedroom had a ~15ft hallway, about 5 feet wide, where mine and my roommates closets were. windows lined the whole one side. then in the room, it was so big we had this; in the one corner, a couch. i brought in a full sized couch my parents gave to me. next to that was the mid size fridge, then my desk. then my bed going along the one wall. then my roommates bed perpendicular to taht. then his desk. then his dresser, which had our tv on it.
big pimpin. 2 suitemates were korean, so had about 30 korean kids in my room every weekend. big parties EVERY weekend. lots of beautiful women, alcohol, and ganja.
good times
