Cruel Summer anyone?

Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label is releasing the album on the 18th. I'm sure some of you may have already gotten a copy of the leak version, but aside from that, what do you think of it? I for one think that finally there is a proper record label with proper artists on it producing good music. I'm sick and tired of Wayne and his crew, not to mention Young Money sucks ass. MMG is pretty good with Wale and Meek Millz but I think G.O.O.D. is on top of them all. I'd like to hear some different opinions on the album and who thinks who is better. I know I'm not the only one here that listens to rap/hip hop. Cruel Summer gets a 9/10 in my book, but I am disappointed that they released almost all the good songs on the radio.

Well, actually I'm not referring solely to Kanye, but I do believe he is better than most of the rappers in "Hip Hop". I'm talking about the label as a whole, good artists such as Common, John Legend, Pusha T, etc. That's fine if you don't agree, I just have a different taste than you. Do you like hip hop? Who do you think is a good hip hop artist?

lil wayne is better than kanye but it all sucks now. I got lil waynes first album way back in 99 when nobody even knew who he was. People said it was shit but look at where he is today.

And I used to think Wayne was the shit all the way up until Carter III, everything after sucked. I think Kanye is a better artist than him though. If you listen to College Dropout and Late Registration, you can see his true lyrical talent.

now i like heiroglyphics, common, black sheep, etc as much as the rest of them but i also enjoy Kanye's music (though not his public persona) and other new artists like Frank Ocean, Cudi and OF too. they're all different flavors.

In all reality, I'm not oblivious to the underground rap scene and I've listened to heiro, immortal, atmosphere, etc. They are great rappers and have good material don't get me wrong, but seriously, that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy mainstream as well. Not all mainstream is shitty, matter of fact, some of it is really good. I stress "some". For example, you can't have fun with Immortal Technique songs can you? Most of them revolve around real world causes and issues or he's just rapping about bullshit that goes on in our world and it's seriously not something you can play at a party or get together. But, I'm not here to argue over whether mainstream or underground is better, I just want to hear peoples thoughts on a album I find to be really good, since I am a fan of Kanye and his label.
