Start my new job today!

So last Thursday I get called up out of the blue by a car dealership that I had applied to online the week before. Go in for an interview for a was bay job, end up gettng hired over the phone an hour later for a Service Valet job.

I'm going to be leaving working as a shift manager at McDonalds to drive cars around 8-5. No more shitty hours! It's a GM dealership I'm going to be at mainly but the company owns 15 different dealerships thought the city so I'm hoping to move up. Would be nice to find myself at the parts counter by the time winter is really here, but for now I'm happy working limited weekends and no late nights/overnights.

Congrats. Work your ass off and do better than the rest for any opportunity to climb the ladder. Wash and valet guys have come up from those starting points at our dealer several times and are making a good living with a solid company now. Good luck.

Lol Spryfield isn't that bad. I'm working in Dartmouth wich overall I'd say is a tougher area. As soon as people cross the bridge their driving goes full retard. The circ is a terrifying thrill ride of bad driving during any kind of rush hours.

Work hard, don't screw around/hoon in the customers cars and stay out of other peoples drama (they will try to suck you in, believe me) and you will do fine.

If you are looking to get into parts, start sucking up to the parts people/manager to get your foot in the door. DO NOT disappear into the parts department when you are supposed to be on the drive up shagging cars though. Show up early/stay late or do it on your lunch.

No worries, I won't pull a Devon. I'm actually replacing someone who went to working parts, so that seems like a good sign for that little plan. Would actually like to get a spot on the side of town I live to avoid bridge toll daily, but so far (after only 5hrs) I'm liking the job and the service advisers are cool for the most part.

Makes sense. However, we have a guy who is in school that only works Friday and Saturdays. Sounds good to me as it means I have to work fewer Saturdays.

nice! I was doing this not to long ago at a bmw dealership here. Easily funnest job I have had. cost on parts, got to hang with the techs and drive around nice cars all day long. easy money!

Hahaha! Have to take one before your first day. Easy peasy when you don't do drugs!
