Sonny never bothered me that much.

I'm an admin on another car forum, that's a spin-off from Golfmk6.com. Its called Datforumdoe.com, it's mostly inside jokes of a small community, but it's a good place. We had one dude on there just like Sonny, he would smoke weed and post dumb shit, but over time we got to know him pretty well. So, I guess I feel like I had an understanding of who he was.

Now, I don't disagree witn the site admin, I'm just noticing that the tolerance is much less on here.

He still had his MK6 GTi, he had an upgraded tune installed went to drive it and boom, nasty knock. So he posts 'engije knocking, what do I do?' everyone immediately says 'dont fucking drive it!' He drove it home. Then the tow truck comes and he drives it on the tow truck.

So his car is now at the dealership, what happened was his exhaust cam split in 1/2, it's a radial fracture, meaning the two pieces are still able to spin together, kind of like a u-joint. And on the TSI engine the high pressure fuel pump is powered off the exhaust cam. The dealer quickly replaced the fuel pump and stuck him when the rest of the bill.

What happened, my theory at least, is APR released and updated tune and it killed his fuel pump (Which could have been on it's last leg) the pump sized and forced the cam to stop rotating, and it snapped. The pump is driven off a gear on one end, and the timing chain is on the other.

So, this kid, who is like Sonny is in a real pickle. So, the dealership is adamant, it's his fault, here's a bill for $6,700 for an engine rebuild. We're telling him to find an independent VW shop, swap in an LKQ engine for like $3,500. He pays the full $6,700, then traded the car in a few weeks later.

So...
We actually ran him off the forum by making fun of him. It's not a ban, but I get it, people need to be dealt with.

I forget the guys username, but he used it so much and annoyed so many with it. That it was added to the the list of censored words. And that list is very very small. Plus it was many years ago.
