things i commonly forget, in order of importance:

my mother's birthday
my wallet/keys
tools.. fucking all the time
the start times/locations of my classes
generally things that aren't about cars

its ok i recovered from a forgotten name mid hook up. Just get them drunk enough and they wont care. Bitch was calling me Herbert Hoover (b/c my name starts with H) so i just called her Ms Hoover all night. Just wing it till it works.

My GF swears I don't listen to her, but honestly I just forget what she said.

It's not that I'm ignoring, I'm just not capable of retaining what you're saying.

I donno which is worse, admitting to not listening, or admitting that I totally forgot what she said. Both make her feel like what she just said is not important to me.

My girl always refers to tv shows or something we sore like months ago and gets angry when I don't remember.

I'll put things places, just random places, and when I need them 6 months later I can go right to them.



Or my GF will put something somewhere. I'll see it out of the corner of my eye. Months later she'll be looking for it and I'll either go get it, or tell her to a T where it is.



...but yet when I lay tools down for two seconds I can't fucking find them.

The part where a week or two later you go back in the garage to work on something and you can't even get to the toolbox. Or you stub your foot on the A/C compressor you replaced. At that point I usually clean. And by the time I am done I don't have time to work on what I originally went to the garage to do

I'll get frustrated stumbling over shit to get something done. Then I'll clean....and get side tracked...and start doing something different (ie: fixing windows on Rover, begin cleaning to find tools, decide to make a shelf to hold these things I'm picking up, BAM! Dark outside and I'm hungry so I quit and never get my windows done.)

I remember useless shit, but cant for the life of me remember names.

This. When I met me wife she told me her name a bunch if times but I didn't remember it until I had to ask her how to spell it to put it in my phone. Oddly enough she told me later she had forgotten my name and didn't remember until I called her and identified myself. Our kids are fucked.
