What if you are racing your car but you still have car payments? I guess it would a good way to get out of a car payment. "Hello insurance? Yeah my car got crushed so it's totalled."

No it's not a way out of your payments. Your bank doesn't give a shit about your car, they care about their money. You still owe what you owe on it, having it seized doesn't matter.

It's like parks and fisheries officers seizing the vehicles used by poachers. They have the authority to take them leaving you high and dry and you're left paying for a truck you don't own anymore.

Barely anything. I got $30 for my e30 chassis (almost completely stripped). In fact so little they may not buy your scrap metal. I was told to call and double check an hour before arriving.

Theres a M535i in Arizona thats been illegally imported back in the mid 90's.
It was then vin swaped with a Diamondswartz car. The seller tryied to sell it as a euro converted 535i. But he got nailed with questions. A few People who have owned euro cars spotted the differences.

He was selling it for $25k,Because it had a TCD turbo and a sick interior.
he was contacted by the DMW,and it is now hidden somewhere,and for sale in canada for $11k.

They bitch because People like BMW NA or Toyota NA tell our politicians that they cant make money on euro imports,and then the "safety division of the dwv claims because they are imports they dont meet are crash standards,or epa standards. its all about the money.

And I believe its an extreme case when this happens (people who attemted to evade or are repeat offenders). Still though, I hate seeing perfectly good cars destroyed, whether I like it or not.

Hell...keep them and give them to people who don't have cars...like they should've did with the cash for clunkers...
