almost, only in some cases...i replaced a Z4 fuel tank once. fuel pump and filter assembly is on right side of the saddle, that's replaceable. left sending unit was reading incorrectly, that's sealed and replacing tank is only way to go. more or less that's how things are going. not sure if this is true in all cases as bmw does some stupid things when it comes to designing and replacing parts, but they say it's more cost effective to do things this way. you don't disassemble and rebuild things.

A_325, get your shit together at uti and work hard, i'd focus more on school and working to get industry experience than finding drunk bitches. bmw is not easy so don't set your heart on it and have a back up plan. saw too many guys who didn't have what it took to cut it there in the first place put all their eggs in one basket and get turned away quickly. they didn't know what to do with themselves when they were told to leave their first interviews.

one more thing, you get out of it what you put into it, take that approach to school, you'll do well if you go that route. just some advice for you.

Do that ASAP. The second you feel you're qualified to pass one of the 8 tests, go for that one. Don't wait longer than you need to.

Although BMW generally doesn't recognize ASE certifications for specific jobs, having 6 of the main 8 cuts 2 years off the 5-year dealership experience requirement for becoming a BMW Master Technician.

Imagine that... get out of school, get a job with BMW, get into and then graduate from STEP, work full time for only 3 years while completing at least 6 ASE tests and you could be a Master Tech. At least that's my plan.
