This happened twice to my area the last two years. I personally have been fine from where my house is located(up high on a hill). I volunteer my construction skills to help gut damaged houses.
Wishing you the best and praying for all of you.
I don't know where to start (Hurricane Sandy Wreckage)

This is the worst.
But actually, SO FAR, the weather center (or whoever makes these rulings) is calling Sandy a Tropical somethingorother. So instead of a "hurricane" deductible of 15% of your house, it still may be the regular deductible. BUT, im sure that wont hold up. We'll see.Leave a comment:

:( Sorry to see all this destruction. Stay strong and everything will work out just fine.Leave a comment:

Worst part is, a lot of insurance companies have clauses that alter your policy in the event of a natural disaster. I heard some peoples deductibles that were $500 became %15 of their homes value.Leave a comment:

my family does for my house, but i can pretty much guarantee all the people on my street that flooded dont. The high water has never even been in the street before, much less 3 feet of it. FEMA may be able to cover some, but not all the damages :(Leave a comment:

on the insurance note, I hope most of these people had flood insurance. Because if not, many are in a world of hurt!Leave a comment:

sleeve, this is a thread about the op's damages during hurricane sandy, not NJ gun laws.
op - fuck, that sucks. My parents are about 25 minutes from the shore so they fared a bit better. Hope your insurance comes through!Leave a comment:

Even as a liberal socialist waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles, I admit that in bad times rules go out the window and common sense takes over when it comes to your own safety and well being.IN NEW JERSEY you have to be kidding. HAHAHAHA your a funny guy, land of the illegal JHP ( you know those kill cops) and dam near regulatory ban on pistols, out right ban on safari class calibers, even black powder. You dont want to defend your place with a firearm in NJ.Leave a comment:

Unreal what has happened to your home & neighborhood. Glad to hear you're ok - sorry about the E30 losses. Storms like these just don't happen in Cali so I can't even being to imagine what it must be like.

yupp, currently drip drying on the end of my street. In the second video i posted, you can see the one in the driveway next to the van. Water was up to the rear window. The other was on jackstands in the garage. It came up about to the rocker panels. The interior MIGHT be ok, but everything in the frame just got covered in mud and salt water.
E30 to the right of our van, visable just barely at 1:00-1:15, almost completely submerged. and that was after the water receeded about a foot and a halfLeave a comment:
