    Anyone here into guns?

If you're in the know, then you'll know what's up with california and a recent court case which has made certain guns legal for a limited amount of time. Would anyone know where I can purchase a self-loading .223 or 5.56mm stripped lower receiver? I need one ASAP :D

        Eaglefirearms.net or
        adcofirearms.com

both have great reputations. Try the Stag line for bang for the buck, same supplier as Rock River Arms.

I'm not in the know since I live in a free state, enlighten us?

btw- ryno- picked up my CHL today, fuck yeah. Almost walked home with a S&W 1911, that shit was sweet.

stripped receiver is technically the 'gun' per the ATF, so if a certain model is legal for a time (like it seems to be in cali), now would be the time to get the receiver as a base to built a gun on, I think? Something like that. I know you can get 'parts kit' AKs that come with everything but the reciever. I dunno though, i might be wrong.

DC is bad too, unless you're a criminal, then its all gravy.

Not to start a big discussion, but if you're a criminal anywhere, it's all gravy. That's why gun laws are so rediculous, they stop law obiding citizens from buying them. If a criminal wants a gun bad enough, he'll get one, they ignore the law. Support NRA :)

fuck yeah, AKs rock. Seems like the cheapo surplus 7.62 is in short supply nowadays though.

                chase- exactly.

May I ask why anyone would need a AK47? That's no hunting gun.
And why do you need a handgun at home? I never understood why so many people in the US have handguns at home.

                    Flame on.

I agree. The U.S. has one of the highest murder rates in the world thanks to our "right to bear arms". Gun laws may not 100% prevent people from getting guns but they do a good job of detering. Flame on.

it's hard to understand all that when I am highly against sport hunting, and gun ownership in general.
I suppose we need to agree to disagree.
There's always two sides to the book.

But people can't deny the fact that the freely obtainable gun ownership has some correlation with the higher rates of deadly crimes caused by a gun.

Sweet!! Thank you. I will give them a call and see if they're willing to ship to CA. I was specifically looking for the stag (its funny that they supply RRA and RRA is on the ban list), so this might be the ticket....

Also... regarding the whole gun thing...

A stripped receiver is the "heart" of the gun. Its where you plug in the magazine, connect the stalk, attach the upper/barrel, etc. This is the core piece that is actually registered by serial number.

The DOJ has a list called the Kasler List which identifies numerous AR and AK type weapons which are to be "banned". A recent court ruling states that the DOJ can't expect civilians to know that certain unnamed stripped receivers SHOULD be banned. So.... that means until the DOJ bans a particular self-loading .223 receiver by name - IT IS LEGAL TO PURCHASE.

Now... here's the problem. The very next day, the DOJ held meetings all day about how to get all of these other receivers on the ban list. My goal is to purchase a self-loading .223 or 5.56 receiver (specifically the Stag 5.56 model) BEFORE the DOJ bans the unit. Then, I will wait until the DOJ bans the unit. Once the DOJ bans the unit - there is a special 90-day registration period where you can register your lower receiver as a LEGAL ASSAULT WEAPON. Once you have done this and the receiver is on the ban list.... you can do WHATEVER the hell you want with it. Pistol grip, foward grip, retractable stalk, removable mag, etc.

Honestly, i'm not a hardcore gun guy. I've never owned a gun in my life. However... IF I were to ever own a gun, its going to be this one!

Exactly, because inanimate objects cause crime. I guess my guns are defective? If you want to get really technical, run a Pearson correlation between FBI crime rate stats and states' rankings with the Brady Campaign and analyze the relationship, you might be a little suprised.

As for need, who said there's a need? We're on a BMW board for fucks sake, do we need E30s? Guns are fun to have, shoot, collect, whatever. That's justification enough to have them. Just because someone doesn't think that does not mean they should all be banned, registered and melted for scap.
