My remedy:
Stop watching flashy tv shows, play less video games, stop aimlessly surfing the internet, stop masturbating, eat healthy nutritious foods, read more books and magazines, discover a physical activities that you can participate in.
From my personal experience, you will be happier with a change in lifestyle. There are much healthier ways to stimulate your brain, as well as make you feel better physically. Don't make ADD an excuse.
I don't know your situation, of course, but I always try to remind myself of these things.Comment

Oh yeah, trance music kills your brain too. Stay away from it. It's what I've been addicted to for a long time now.Comment

do you know how often it has to be taken?Originally posted by permitMy sis and all my buddies take Adderol (sp?) and it seems to work just fine.
while those do sound like good things to do, i dont see how they could help me pay attention and get things done. Without meds i cant read something im not interested in and rememer any of it. sometimes it takes me hours to do a few minutes of work. And how does trance music hurt the brain?Originally posted by E30 WagenMy remedy:

Goddammit I was diagnosed with ADD too. It's bullshit though, it's just an excuse for lazy asses like myself who don't have the motivation to concentrate. It's also an excuse to sell more prescription drugs. What e30 Wagen said sounds like a good idea. Now I just have to get up off my ass and start exercising and eating well.Comment

You should get yourself some new meds, change all the crap in your sig, and go away. Didn't your mommy and daddy make you sell your cars yet?
Seriously, I cannot believe some of the retarded-ass threads people start on car forums. It's like that "what kind of sandwiches do you like?" thread on E30Tech...Comment

Reading books is hard if you aren't used to it. I used to be a very attentive person, and I had a great concentration span - but TV and computer etc has ruined it.
Now, I rarely watch TV, though I'm addicted to the internet.
Make yourself read everyday, cut TV and computer time down. Start reading easy books - fictional book of your interest. If you don't read regularly, it is hard for anyone. Can you concentrate on something you really like doing?
I really believe that greater number of people have mental disorders because there has been conditions that have been identified as a disorder. Taking drugs is the easy way out - or so it seems.
I really shouldn't have anything to say, because without my sleeping pills, I will be up for days - literally. I was getting 10 hours a week or sleep if even, and I was always in a horrible mood, couldn't concentrate and hated life in general. My smoking habits came back with this too.
Now that I'm hooked on bunch of pills, I have to learn to decrease it - I wish I had figured out a better method.
I'm also not supposed to have alcohol, but I do anyway. Doesn't go well with the drugs, not to mention when I do drink, I have the worst sleep ever. I'll fall asleep easier than normal, but an hour later, my eyes are wide open
haha that turned into a stupid rant - sorry. But do all you can to not take drugs, many of them are highly addictive and you will become very reliant on them.
If you want a nice easy read, pick up the Kite Runner. It's in the top 10 everywhere right now. It's a fun and quick read.
Reading really gets your brain going and thinking. I feel so much better after reading.~ Go Canucks Go! ~

According to various doctors and shrinks that have "diagnosed" me since middle school up until present day (age 25), I have: Learning Disability, mild dyslexia, Acute ADHD, borderline personality disorder and acute depression. I took part in a "study" on ADD/ADHD in college, the doctor examining me told me that most people that demonstrate "my level of symptoms" never graduate high school.
I've never touched meds in my life. I banged out a 1390 SAT, 33 ACT, I'm a college graduate, I'm gainfully employed, I have healthy relationships.
I think most of these diagnoses are absolute fucking horseshit designed as nothing more than a crutch for lazy & weak willed people.
