    Movie critique: The Producers

    Horrible. Utterly, amazingly, stupendously, horrible.

I originally saw it in LA about two years ago in theater, and I laughed my ass off through the entire thing--I loved it. So tonite, I convinced a couple of buddies that it would be hilarious and that it'd be worth their $7.

I was wrong. Now I have no friends. It was boring, unfunny (except maybe Ferrell in a couple shots, nothing stunning), slow, and poorly executed. I recommend that no one sees this, ESPECIALLY if you haven't seen the play already.

    Anyone agree?

Meh. I haven't seen the movie, but its all about who you watch it with. If you watch a movie with people who love to laugh, chances are you'll like it more. It sucks watching movies with people who are too cool to laugh.

True. That goes for movies like "Bum Fights"...if you watch it alone, you just feel sorry for the bums. But if you watch it with a couple buddies, you'll be dead from laughter.

This movie wasn't anything like that though, it just sucked.

The OG movie was great. So I totally get that logic...

"Hey guys, look! We have this movie that was good back in the 60s, let's make it again. It's not like there a rental places where people have access to said movie."

I've seen the Producers on Broadway and the OG movie, and I knew right when the ads came out for this one that it would be awful.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

It's funny because it started as a Movie, became a play and now is again a movie. It's interesting how few really "new" ideas hollywood has put out lately they have to resort to recycling old stuff and usually ruining it.

The only original movies lately have been from the China/Japan area, or been movies like Napoleon Dynamite, Anchorman, Shrek, etc. Comedies are easier to make original, but every action movie plot line has already been taken, and thats why they've resorted to the Mission:Impossible IIIs.

More about The Producers: It's a movie based on a play based on a movie about a play.
