All silly videos and pop-culture references aside, that's a beautiful gift and a wonderful story behind it. Hold onto that watch forever, pass it on to your kids!

Awesome story, although it may be a "run of the mill" watch, still looks great!
I have friends who are EOD bro.

That's awesome. I have friends who make coffee for a living, but you don't see me rocking out a bunch of lattes

That is awesome! My dad has given me a couple of his watches that I hold near and dear to my heart despite our shitty relationship (fortunately he is still a part of my life).

On a more morbid note, my grandfather who was the idol of my life and taught me more than I could ever learn on my own passed away last spring and I found his only money clip from North Dakota State (his first big time coaching gig) and my grandmother gave it to me. I have had it in my pocket every day since. I polished it up the other day and it looks amazing, the same night I polished it I had a dream in which I was talking on the phone with him, and he still had his great sense of humor.

Sentimental mementos like this are really an amazing thing. Your daughter sounds like a great person. Props to you, enjoy that awesome watch!

                +1

                You're amongst friends...;)

Great story though, it's always the little things that make the biggest impact.
