They are awesome for sure. Brandon, pebbles is my fiances first leopard gecko. She will never let it go. It has been through hell and back. We got her from a breeder at a show. Got her home and she wouldnt eat for weeks. Her tail got stick thin so we took her to the vet. Got her some carnivore care and had to use a syringe (without the needle) and force it down her throat. About a week or 2 of doing that she was the way she should be. She had parasites. Now shes parasite free.
But she loves to be held as well. Shes an afghan mack snow eclipse from what that half assed breeder told us.

Mine won't touch mealies, or supers. Sometimes the young ones will eat a cricket, but waxworms are the preferred meal of choice. I just picked up some mealies and put 5 of them in the food dish, after 3 days there are still 5 in the food dish. I placed a couple wax worms in there and they picked the waxworms out and left the rest.

Liked your page. My brother and I had a Tokay Gecko when we were in junior high. We got him from a pet store that was closing down, wasn't sure what was gonna happen to him once they closed. So we bought him for $10, I think. He was neat, kinda mean, but overall a neat experience.Comment

Waxworms are not good to constantly feed them. They are more of a "treat" because they are so high in fat. If money isn't a factor for you, go buy Calci-worms. Expensive but the best you can get. Stupid high in calcium (which leopards need) and you don't even have to dust them.Mine won't touch mealies, or supers. Here is a link to Calci-worms, we order our mealworms from here, they are good, they always throw in extra in case a few don't make it on the journey in a box.
Tokays are mean, not meant to be held but I agree, they are pretty awesome.Liked your page. My brother and I had a Tokay Gecko when we were in junior high. I've tried everything that is available around here. None of them will touch Calci-worms. Yes, I know waxworms are high in fat, but they won't touch anything else. I'd try dubia roaches but I can't get any locally and dont want to order a huge amount if they won't eat them.Waxworms are not good to constantly feed them. They aren't fat, and they seem pretty healthy so I'll keep trying to find another food they will eat. It just kinda sucks when you are throwing containers of dead crickets or mealies out on a regular basis.

It sounds wrong but don't feed it for a week or a little over a week (no it will not kill it) anf then throw in mealworms. Hahaha, yeah I've tried that. I've gone 3 weeks and they wouldn't touch anything but the wax worms. I've tried the bait and switch method, started with a meal worm, they turned up their noses, tried a wax worm chowed it down, went back to the mealie, turned up their noses, tried a cricket, turned up their noses. The funny thing is that two of them used to love crickets but no longer. I've researched this for hours. Heck, for the week I was gone over christmas, I left mealies in the food dish, I came back and there were still the same amount in the dish. I've gone as long as 3 weeks trying to get them to eat meal worms or crickets, they wouldn't touch them. The crickets ate more of the mealworms than the geckos did. At that point they were starting to look a little skinny in the tail so I gave in and fed them what they would eat. The old guy only wants to eat about every week or so anyway.
Obviously I cant force them to eat what they don't want to eat.

Yeah that sucks. But you can force feed them but its not a good idea with worms. We had to force feed ours with a syringe when it was sick. That sucked. But one of the others refused to eat for weeks so I decided to force feed him the same stuff we gave the sick gecko (with a different syringe of course). Lo and behold he ate mealworms the next day and mows through them now. The stuff was called "carnivore care" its a powder you mix with water.
Keep spreading the word. We have an ovulating female so hopefully she puts out some eggs soon.
It will be bell sunglo enigmas and bell albinos
